Currency Exchange Rates
Travel bookings often involve foreign currencies -- an international flight might be priced in EUR or USD while your company invoices in your local currency. The Stricct Travel Connector integrates with an external exchange rate service to keep your currency rates up to date.
Updating Exchange Rates
The system fetches current exchange rates from an online rate provider. To trigger an update:
- In Business Central, search for Currencies using the search bar (Alt+Q).
- On the Currencies page, use the Update Exchange Rates action to pull the latest rates from the service.
- The system retrieves rates for all configured currencies and stores them in the exchange rate table.
We recommend updating exchange rates at least once per day, ideally at the start of the business day before processing bookings. This ensures that sales orders created from imported bookings use accurate, current rates.
How Rates Apply to Bookings
When a booking is processed into a sales order, Business Central uses the exchange rate valid on the order date. If the booking currency differs from your local currency, the fare amounts are converted automatically using the stored rate.
Missing or Outdated Rates
If a booking references a currency that has no exchange rate for the relevant date, processing will fail with an error. The import will appear with an Error status in the AIR Import List. To resolve this:
- Update exchange rates as described above.
- If the currency is not yet set up, add it on the Currencies page first, then update rates.
- Re-process the import once the rate is available.
Keeping exchange rates current prevents processing delays and ensures your invoices reflect accurate amounts.
