Mandatory Field Requirements
Some customers require specific reference information on every sales order -- such as a department code, project number, cost place, or employee number. The Stricct Travel Connector lets you enforce these requirements at the customer level so that orders cannot be processed with missing information.
Available Requirements
You can enable any combination of the following on the Customer Card:
| Setting | What It Requires |
|---|---|
| Require Department | A department code must be specified on sales documents for this customer. |
| Require Project Number | A project number must be specified on sales documents for this customer. |
| Require Cost Place | A cost place must be specified on sales documents for this customer. |
| Require Employee Number | An employee number must be specified on sales documents for this customer. |
How to Enable or Disable
- Open the Customer Card for the customer you want to configure.
- In the General FastTab, locate the four "Require" toggle fields.
- Turn each toggle on (checked) to make that field mandatory, or off (unchecked) to make it optional.
- The setting takes effect immediately for new sales documents.
What Happens When a Required Field Is Missing
When a sales order is processed for a customer with mandatory field requirements, Business Central checks that all required fields have been filled in. If any required field is left blank, the system displays a validation error identifying the missing field and prevents the order from being processed further.
This ensures that your customer's invoices always contain the reference information they need for their internal accounting and approval workflows.
